Al Batra Restaurant and Coffee Shop

After our dinner at Min Sok, J and I decided to have coffee and dessert at Al Batra located Makati Avenue.

Just like Min Sok, J and I were the only Filipino patrons at that time. It gives you the feeling that you are in a foreign country that enhances the authentic atmosphere and taste of what we ordered.

J ordered Turkish Coffee, P65. I took a sip of this coffee and I have to agree with J that this is one of the most unique and delicious coffee we ever drank. It is flavorful like there is gudang garam taste on it. It has the initial effect of making you groggy and your eyes watery like punch-drunk but after awhile you become alert and hyper. Cool!

By the way, the size of the cup is only slighter bigger than an espresso cup. For size comparison, I photographed it beside the small sugar container.

I ordered the Trans-Jordan Chai Tea, P90
A tea is a tea.

Cake and Coffee

Thank God for cafes (especially with free wifi) because they serve as extensions of our office, business meetings or overtime work. We usually order coffee and cake to compensate for the extended stay.

Classic Confections
Nono's Chocolate Oblivion, P200.89. I love this cake.  From the bitter chocolate taste to the delightful sugary crunch, each bite is pure bliss. I always order this cake but I noticed that the cake has grown smaller in size while the price has gotten bigger.
Cafe Americano, P71.43 with a mini sugar cookie.
CW Lifestyle
Chocolate cake, P100. I'm glad that they made an effort on the plate presentation because it compensates for the so-so taste of the cake.
Coffee with condensed milk,  P50
McCafe's Nutty Brazo. Surprisingly yummy

The colors of Sonja's saucers and teacups reminds of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Chocolate Surprise, P68

Choco Cheese Swirl, P58

Troy Dyer: "You look like a doily"

Seattle's Best Coffee

We were travelling down South and had to make a pit stop at Caltex. I went to SBC to take shelter from the scorching heat. I like this SBC branch because it is clean, spacious and offers free wifi if you purchase P150 worth of drinks. I ordered a drink worth P150 for the free wifi but I did not know it comes with lousy wifi connection. Aaisshh. Good thing that I enjoyed my drink, or else, it would have been P150 down the drain.

Iced White Chocolate Mocha, P150 - A great way to beat the summer heat, cold and not too sweet.

Krispy Kreme

Breakfast at G4

We usually eat Krispy Kreme for breakfast on the way to our office, thus, we always buy it through the MOA drive-thru. Plus, we only buy when the neon red sign "Hot Doughnuts Now" is lit, which lately seems to be seldomly lit.We love Krispy Kreme's smooth and soft texture and the crunch of the ice glaze but what we love most is the free treat: yummy glazed doughnuts served warm.

J and I were happy that we were able to eat our Krispy Kreme inside the store, and not in the car (honey look, no crumbs). We ordered our favorites, chocolate candy sprinkles and glazed doughnuts. However, we were not given a treat. boo!

Chocolate Candy Sprinkles, P42. Looks and tastes good, as usual

Original Glazed, P31 - not served warm
Brewed coffee, P65 - J said this is better than St*rbucks
